Chris Cartrett has stepped down as President and Chief Executive Officer of Aderant, effective August 1, 2026, the legal technology company announced Monday. Deane Price, who previously led Aderant from 2017 to 2021, will assume the role of interim CEO as the firm conducts a formal search for permanent replacement.
Aderant, which operates as a business unit of Roper Technologies, provides financial management, practice management, and operational software to law firms worldwide. Its flagship offerings include the Onyx cloud platform and the Expert Sierra practice and financial management system. The company has intensified its focus on artificial intelligence capabilities, unveiling an Agentic Law Firm Operations AI Agent Center earlier this year at its Momentum Global conference. Cartrett's departure follows a period of notable activity in the legal technology sector, where demand for integrated enterprise solutions has accelerated as law firms seek efficiency gains amid competitive pricing pressure and client demands for transparency.
