Dua Associates has selected Legora for firm-wide deployment across its eight offices and multiple practice groups in India.
The rollout marks a significant step in AI adoption among Indian law firms, moving from a structured pilot to full enterprise deployment. It signals that large Indian firms are now making deliberate, practice-level commitments to legal AI rather than exploratory trials.
From Pilot to Deployment
The deployment follows a competitive evaluation of multiple legal AI platforms. Dua Associates selected Legora based on its technology capabilities and the hands-on implementation support provided during the pilot phase.
During the pilot, Legora worked directly with lawyers across practice groups. The focus was on identifying real use cases, conducting direct training, and fitting AI into existing legal workflows.
What Lawyers Are Using
Lawyers at Dua Associates are now using Legora for legal research, document review, drafting, and matter-specific agentic workflows. Agentic workflows refer to AI systems that can carry out multi-step legal tasks with minimal manual input.
The deployment spans all eight of the firm's offices across India. The rollout covers multiple practice areas, reflecting broad internal adoption rather than a limited-use deployment.
The Selection Process
C. R. Dua, Chairman of Dua Associates, explained the firm's approach to evaluating the platform. "AI adoption in a law firm cannot be treated merely as a software deployment exercise. It has to earn the confidence of lawyers through practical application on real work. What stood out about Legora was the combination of platform capability, responsiveness, and the hands-on manner in which their team engaged with our practice groups."
He added that lawyer engagement during the pilot gave the firm confidence to proceed. "From the early stages of the pilot, we saw strong engagement from our lawyers as they tested use cases, challenged the technology, and identified areas where it could add value. That gave us the confidence to move from evaluation to a broader rollout across practice groups and offices."
India as a Strategic Market
Legora currently serves more than 1,200 law firms globally. Its existing clients include Bird and Bird, Cleary Gottlieb, White and Case, Linklaters, Deloitte, Dentons, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, and Goodwin. Dua Associates joins this group as the platform expands its presence in India.
Amit Kothiyal, Head of India at Legora, described the significance of the partnership. "We are excited to partner with Dua Associates in this next phase of its technology journey. We believe legal AI adoption in India will increasingly be shaped by firms that combine innovation with rigour and a practical understanding of how lawyers work. India is a strategic market for Legora, given the sophistication and scale of legal work here."
Kothiyal also noted what the pilot phase revealed about the broader market. "The level of engagement we saw from Dua Associates during the pilot phase reflects the growing maturity and seriousness with which Indian law firms are approaching AI adoption."
