HaystackID expanded its AI-powered legal discovery solutions into Europe, showcasing new privacy and security tools at the 2026 Dublin Tech Summit on May 26.

The expansion is significant because European organisations now operate under multiple overlapping regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, the EU AI Act, NIS2, and DORA. Organisations that fail to respond to data subject access requests (DSARs) within required timelines face substantial fines, and managing cross-border digital evidence has become a major operational burden for legal and compliance teams.

New Tools Launched

HaystackID debuted two featured solutions at the Dublin Tech Summit, held at the RDS venue in Dublin, Ireland.

The first is the HaystackID Privacy Hub, a platform that scans for personally identifiable information (PII), which refers to data that can identify a specific individual. The tool identifies and quantifies both standard and non-standard PII, maps geographic exposure by state and country, and flags handwritten or poor-quality scanned documents. It delivers a full breakdown of privacy risk exposure in minutes rather than weeks.

The second is a GenAI-Powered DSAR Response solution. This tool automates the end-to-end process of responding to data subject access requests. A live demonstration at the summit walked through an employment tribunal scenario, covering forensic data collection, AI-powered review, automatic redaction, and jurisdiction-specific delivery, all within a single unified workflow.

AI Fraud and Deepfakes

Beyond privacy tools, HaystackID addressed the growing problem of synthetic media and AI-enabled fraud in legal investigations.

John Wilson, CISO and president of forensics at HaystackID, and Jeff Shapiro, managing director for HaystackID's Europe operations, presented a session titled "When You Can't Trust the Evidence: Deepfakes, AI Fraud, and the Collapse of Digital Trust." The session took place on May 28 at 11:15 a.m. GMT in RDS Hall 1.

The session covered three specific issues: authenticating deepfake media in investigations, regulatory pressure under NIS2 and DORA, and managing cross-border digital evidence. These are areas where AI-generated content now directly threatens the integrity of legal proceedings.

"Legal and regulatory obligations across Europe have become increasingly complex, and the rapid adoption of AI is compounding the data privacy and security risks that global enterprises face every day," said John Wilson. "We were early to recognise that AI will reshape how organisations respond to investigations, regulatory inquiries and litigation and have built our platform around that reality."

European Market Focus

HaystackID's entry into the European market builds on its earlier acquisition of eDiscovery AI, a technology platform purpose-built for generative AI workflows in legal and compliance settings.

The company describes itself as among the earliest firms to operationalise generative AI for legal, privacy, and investigative workflows at a production scale. Its platform covers audits, investigations, and litigation support.

Jeff Shapiro noted that European clients are setting the standard for what defensible AI looks like in legal work. "As HaystackID deepens its investment in the region, we are giving clients direct access to secure and local AI-accelerated solutions supported by globally integrated advisory services designed for the realities of managing European data privacy regulations, cross-border investigations and AI governance," said Shapiro.

HaystackID operates booth C7 at the Dublin Tech Summit for the duration of the event.
