Legora has acquired Cadastral, an AI agent platform for commercial real estate, and announced plans to build a new engineering hub in New York City.
The deal signals a broader push to bring AI-native legal tools to industries outside traditional law firms. Commercial real estate produces some of the highest volumes of legal documentation of any sector, yet dedicated AI solutions for the industry have remained limited.
The Deal
Legora announced the acquisition on June 2, 2026. Cadastral serves major commercial real estate firms, including JLL, AvalonBay, Equity Residential, and Empire State Realty Trust. This is Legora's fourth acquisition in 2026.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"What impressed me most about Cadastral was the speed," said Max Junestrand, CEO and Co-Founder of Legora. "They identified a gap in one of the most demanding markets in the world, built a product that serious firms actually trust, and landed some of the biggest names in commercial real estate in record time."
Why CRE
Commercial real estate transactions produce a high volume of legal documents. Every acquisition, lease, refinancing, zoning matter, and dispute requires precise document review, negotiation, and ongoing management. Legal teams in this sector have worked without AI tools built specifically for its document types and deal structures.
Cadastral was designed to address this gap. The platform functions as an AI agent system built specifically for the workflows that define real estate transactions.
Legora describes its broader goal as building an agentic operating system that can follow legal work across industries, not just inside law firms and corporate legal departments.
Cadastral's Growth
Founded in 2024 and launched in 2025, Cadastral built a customer base of over 50 firms in just over one year. The company grew revenues by an average of 40% per month during that period.
Cadastral was co-founded by Abe Somani and Aman Dhesi, who led an engineering team based in New York City.
"We built Cadastral because we believed AI agents could transform how CRE firms handle their legal and transaction workflows. Our growth and customers proved that the industry is ready for agentic transformation," said Abe Somani, Co-Founder of Cadastral. "Joining Legora means we can take the platform much further and much faster."
NYC Expansion
The acquisition also marks the start of Legora's first major engineering hub in the United States. The company plans to hire more than 200 people in New York City and more than 300 across North America by the end of 2026. Cadastral's existing New York-based engineering team forms the foundation of this new hub.
The expansion follows strong financial momentum at Legora. The company recently surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue and reached a $5.6 billion valuation in its Series D funding round. Legora currently serves over 1,200 law firms and in-house legal teams across more than 50 markets worldwide.
